Your role in our team:
- The Parts Operations and Logistics Trainee is an entry-level development role designed to provide hands-on training in all aspects of parts operations within the Parts Department.
- This is a fixed term training contract for a period of 2 years.
- The trainee will learn inventory management, customer service, customs and exports and warehouse processes while supporting the Parts team to ensure customers receive timely and accurate parts solutions.
- Parts Order Processing:
- Act as the primary point of contact for CLAAS UK customers, managing enquiries related to parts availability, compatibility, and pricing via email and phone.
- Provide timely, accurate responses aligned with CLAAS’s high standards to support agricultural machinery uptime and customer satisfaction.
- Assist in the efficient processing of parts orders within CLAAS UK’s ERP system, coordinating closely with sales and warehouse teams to ensure accurate order fulfilment and on-time delivery to customers and dealers across the UK and Ireland.
- Contribute to the efficient stocking of a warehouse (holding £10 million worth of stock).
- Maintain precise, up-to-date inventory records within CLAAS UK’s stock management systems. Participate actively in regular stock audits and cycle counts to ensure data integrity and support accurate forecasting and replenishment.
- Assist with UK customs documentation and export compliance, ensuring smooth movement of parts within the UK and EU post-Brexit. Liaise with stakeholders as necessary to facilitate timely shipments.
- Collaborate with the CLAAS UK marketing teams to provide relevant parts information for promotional campaigns, newsletters, and customer communications. Help create clear, informative content that supports dealer networks and enhances customer engagement.
- Identify and recommend opportunities to improve parts handling, order processing, and inventory management within CLAAS UK. Provide constructive feedback to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
- Support with other duties as and when required to ensure the smooth running of the parts department.
Your profile:
- Qualifications:
- Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English.
- Previous experience in parts support, inventory management, or customer service within a parts/warehouse environment is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using ERP systems and inventory management software (experience with SAP or similar systems desirable).
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Requirements:
- Excellent Customer Service skills.
- Ability to work to deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Able to work effectively as part of a team or independently, as required.
- Be able to problem solve and identify issues and use initiative to resolve or escalate them.
- Able to multi-task and prioritise.
- Good time keeping and attendance.
- Training Arrangement:
- As part of this role, we will offer a fixed term contract which will terminate after 2 years. Alongside this we will commit to supporting with all training costs (a course to be agreed upon) and examinations at first attempt and offer some time for study during working hours in order to achieve the qualification. All other study must be undertaken outside of working hours.
