Your role on our team:

The North America (NA) Tax Manager is responsible for overseeing overall corporate tax compliance in North America, which involves federal, state, and local income tax filings and other business-related tax filing requirements. The role is responsible for developing tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize tax savings. Staying abreast of current tax legislation, managing tax audits, and advising on the tax implications of business activities are also key aspects of the role. Additional duties include reviewing financial records, collaborating with local and global financial teams, preparing tax reports, and maintaining tax records.

 

 

 

• Develops and implements tax strategies to minimize liabilities and maximize tax savings, while ensuring legal compliance for multiple business entities within the North American business framework for CLAAS. (Business entities include, but are not limited to COA, COL, CNAH, NHC, HCE, CCH, CHC, and DHC.)

• Ensures legal compliance with tax laws, preparing and reviewing various tax returns, managing payment deadlines, generating reports, and collaborating with finance teams on accurate financial reporting and tax accounting.

• Responsible for processing state and federal income taxes for the US and Canada business entities.

• Advises senior management on tax implications of business decisions and analyzes the impact of new tax legislation.

• Manages compliance tasks such as the preparation of tax returns and withholding tax topics.

• Preparation of transfer pricing documentation as required.

• IFRS tax reporting as part of the year-end closing, budget and forecast process for income taxes, including deferred taxes.

• Pillar II reporting for US and Canadian companies.

• Works in close collaboration with the Group Taxation department, especially on transfer pricing topics.

• Regularly and effectively collaborates with external tax advisers.

• Manages all NA tax audits and inquiries from authorities and assesses / mitigates tax risks.

• Ongoing optimization of taxation processes and participation in the development of the Tax Compliance Management System (“TCMS”).

• Supervises the goods and service tax and related taxes for both countries.

• Oversee sales tax compliance and accuracy for multi-state / province jurisdictions.

• Serves as primary contact for tax matters in North America.

• Adheres to established company values, practices, policies and procedures at all times. Follows and supports compliance with all applicable safety rules, laws, regulations and standards.

• Demonstrates regular and punctual attendance at the assigned work location.

 

Note: Some domestic and international travel may be included; valid driver’s license and passport are required.

 

Your profile:

• Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting or Finance, Master’s degree in taxation a plus, not required.

• CPA, highly desirable.

• 5-7 years progressive experience in corporate tax compliance and management.

• Strong technical skills in tax planning, accounting, and software proficiency.

• Deep understanding of tax codes, laws, and regulations across federal, state, and local jurisdictions.

• Excellent analytical, communication, leadership, and organizational skills with the ability to clearly and concisely explain complex tax information to management.

• Proficient with tax preparation software e.g. SAP, highly desirable.

• Good organization and time management skills with a willingness to work a flexible schedule to meet deadlines.

• High level of confidentiality required.

• Must be able to meet deadlines and handle a high-volume workload in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail, essential for accuracy in tax filings and compliance.
