Your role on our team:
The Parts Manager oversees the daily parts operations for assigned Ag Dealer Parts Department by promoting and selling parts to all customers. The Parts Manager will establish and oversee the daily parts operation and lead a team of associates to ensure quality of work and service while utilizing the highest level of customer service.
• Manages a balanced inventory consistent with the Service Department and over-the-counter customer requirements.
• Develops and implements department work schedules for vacation and on-call schedules.
• Works with local vendors to maintain the best pricing and discounts.
• Fills and assembles customer and shop parts orders timely and accurately.
• Pulls, coordinates, and schedules freight shipments timely. Ships and receives parts for customer orders / ships and receives equipment as required.
• Monitors Parts Department WIP (open parts invoices) and takes appropriate action to address them.
• Provides and promotes excellent customer service, by parts personnel, to inside and outside customers needing parts and service.
• Assists customers and shop personnel with parts look up and parts orders.
• In cooperation with local management and North America Human Resources, hire, train, develop, and appraise staff effectively. Identify employees' skills and develop them by coaching and counseling on a regular basis. Conduct performance appraisals on time and provide continual feedback on performance. Take timely corrective action as necessary and in accordance with company policies. Work with Complex Manager, Aftersales Manager, General Manager, and North America Human Resource Department to handle disciplinary matters, grievance resolutions, and other personnel related issues
• May be required to assist efforts in the service department during non-peak periods.
• Processes returns from shop and customers.
Note: This position may require some travel by auto; a valid driver’s license with a verifiably safe driving history is required. May require occasional overnight travel and weekend or evening work.
Your profile:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred, not required.
- 4+ years parts or parts sales and/or counter experience desired.
- Working knowledge of CLAAS parts, a plus.
- Warehouse experience preferred.
- Farm background desirable.
- Ability to read and interpret parts and machine schematics desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively train and develop personnel.
- Ability to read and interpret parts and machine schematics desirable.
- Must be self-sufficient with a proven ability to work independently and a strong willingness to learn.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills both technically and professionally
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to handle stressful situations professionally; the ability to exhibit a professioanl manner in dealing with others and maintaining constructive working relationships
- Ability to safely operate forklift and other large machinery / must be able to pass and maintain a valid forklift certification.
- Valid driver’s license verifiable safe driving history / ability to safely drive a motor vehicle
- Ability to multi-task and follow through with defined tasks.
