At its headquarters in Harsewinkel, CLAAS develops, tests, and manufactures self-propelled harvesting machines across an area of 400,000 square meters. The site is home to the production of combine harvesters, forage harvesters, and system tractors. With more than 2,000 employees, we are the largest company within the CLAAS Group, taking on cross-company and cross-country responsibilities in production, research and development, as well as in numerous commercial and administrative functions.

Your role on our team:

  • You are responsible for the system design of highly automated and autonomous overall systems from the digital platform (including app) to the vehicle and its implement, acting as a key partner to Product Management.
  • You lead and motivate interdisciplinary and international project teams across the group, ensuring that holistic and forward-looking solutions are developed.
  • You take ownership of the conceptual design of functional safety architectures and concepts.
  • You manage the technical collaboration with start ups, development partners, and suppliers.
  • You define the interfaces between the digital platform, the electronic control system, and the integration of mechatronic actuators into the overall system.
  • You ensure the overall functionality and series release of highly automated and autonomous vehicles.

Your profile:

  • A university degree in electrical engineering, computer science, natural sciences, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field forms the foundation of your expertise.
  • You bring extensive experience in the development of complex systems, ideally gained in sensing technology, automation, or autonomous applications.
  • Over the course of your career, you have successfully led product developments through to series production and are well versed in agile development methods.
  • Solid knowledge of relevant safety standards such as ISO 25119, ISO 18497, and SOTIF is an integral part of your professional background.
  • With a strong sense of responsibility and solution orientation, you handle complex challenges effectively and define customer-centered solutions.
  • Your structured and methodical approach, combined with analytical and conceptual strength, enables you to master multifaceted technical topics.
  • Experience in agricultural machinery or comparable industries, along with an understanding of agricultural process chains, is a clear advantage.
  • Known for your strong communication and negotiation skills, you demonstrate confidence and assertiveness in both internal and external interactions.
  • Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken, is essential; French language skills are an additional asset.
